Come join us to celebrate Dutch King’s Day on one of the most popular sites in Los Angeles: ShoreLine Aquatic Park in Long Beach. Go To DutchKingsDay.com
Save the date, as you are in for a ‘Dutch treat’ on Sunday April 30, 2017.
You know you are at a Dutch event, when surrounded by people decked out in phenomenal orange attire to celebrate the birthday of King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands.
Dutch King’s Day is a national holiday in the Netherlands and is observed by the Dutch around the globe. The largest King’s Day Party in the world happens in Amsterdam on April 27th – the official birthday of the King. The largest Orange Party in Southern California is presented by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines at the Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach on April 30th, 2017.
This family friendly, outdoor event features typical Dutch street food like, kroketten, bitterballen (bread crumbed meat-based snack roll or ball), patat friet (Dutch fries with different toppings), ‘Hollandse haring’ (raw herring flown in from Holland), poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes), all kinds of home baked Dutch cookies like stroopwafels and imported prepackaged delicacies. Also find Indonesian street food (part of Dutch culinary heritage) like satay and lumpia. Once you’ve had a taste, you may want to explore more of Dutch cuisine at home with the recently released cookbook Indo Dutch Kitchen Secrets, the first Indo Dutch heritage cookbook in English by Jeff Keasberry – available at the fair.
Come out and make it a day! Add to your list of Dutch Experience a whole range of other activities.
The ShoreLine Aquatic Park is known for being a grassy, open park on the water offering picnic areas, a lighthouse & special events.
